EDUCATION

BComm from Carleton University
CPA, CA

Abe started with Parker Prins Lebano as a co-op student in January 2004, ardently working his way through the ranks to senior accountant, manager, and finally, to the position of Partner in January 2014. After graduating with his Bachelor of Commerce degree with a Concentration in Accounting from Carleton University in 2007, Abe attained his CA designation in 2010, is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and holds a Public Accounting License. Having been an audit senior on numerous audits for over five years, Abe has an extensive knowledge of auditing within our varied client base that spans many profit-oriented companies operating in many different sectors, as well as various not-for-profit organizations including Charities, Associations, Condominiums, Non-Governmental Organizations, and the like. In addition to year-round audit and assurance work, Abe is heavily involved in various personal and corporate tax planning and preparation engagements, especially during the firm’s busy tax season, and is quite well-versed in the Canadian tax system. Since moving into his role as Partner, from Manager, Abe is overseeing and reviewing several audits as well as working with clients on their tax planning and preparation needs, while continuing to train our growing staff in these areas, in order to maintain our exceptionally high standard of professional and timely client service – something Abe remains passionate about.

Outside of the workplace, Abe has a very keen interest in sports and is an active participant on soccer, softball, football, volleyball and ball hockey teams throughout the year, including organizing and coordinating many of these teams. Tennis has become a more recent passion in addition to hobbies that include sports, music, travel, culinary tourism, and experiencing and learning about the various cultures of the world, among others. With his remaining free time, Abe served as a Board member and the Treasurer for his former Condominium Corporation for over 9 years, and hopes to one day be able to teach accounting at his alma mater.

Having lived in several places around the world, Abe has found home to be here in beautiful Ottawa for over twenty-five years now; drawn by the cleanliness of the city and easy access to a vast amount of green space coupled with never being too far from a perfect mix of modern and classic architecture in the downtown core. Above all else, it is the “big small-town” feel of having many nearby amenities and a variety of restaurants, while being able to easily escape the hustle and bustle of the city to a nearby campground, waterfront, or cottage, that makes Ottawa such a special place to call home.
